Test # 40

- What is your full name?
My name is (name_surname).

- Can I see your ID?
Yes sure!

- Where are you from?
I'm from (city). It is the (biggest/metro/industrial….) city of the state of (State’s name), situated in the (northern/western) part of my country.

- Do you work or study?
I'm studying Bachelor of Commerce from Som Lalit college of Commerce studies in my city.

- What is your major?
My major is accountancy…especially cost accounting. It covers studies about the various costs that are supposed to be incurred by a company and how to manage and analyse them.

- Do you like to study in the morning or afternoon? Why?
I like to study late at night as it is quiet and peaceful at that time with no one to disturb you. I am particularly not very good at waking up in the mornings so it is difficult for me to study in the morning and I feel sleepy in the afternoons.

- What is the most interesting thing about your study?
The most interesting thing about my study is all the calculations that I get to do in accounts and taxation. Remembering all the sections and various tax rates associated with them and understanding the accounts statements is very interesting for me as many people don’t easily understand all this and it is all very important in everyone’s adult life.

- What do you usually do in the evenings?
I usually watch TV or talk with my friends on phone. I may even spend some time on websites like Facebook and Twitter.

- Do you spend weekdays’ evenings in the same way as weekend evenings?
No in weekends I go out with friends for bowling or a movie or a cafe to just hangout. We may even hangout at any friend’s place and watch TV or something. If possible we take a short trip to Mount Abu on weekends as it is a hill station and it is close to our city.

Cue Card
Talk about a piece of clothing that you received as a gift from someone. Please say
- What was it?
- Who gave it to you?
- When do you wear it?
I would like to talk about a leather jacket that my older brother and my parents gifted me on my last birthday. I am very fond of jackets and blazers and I always like to shop for different kinds of jackets. I like to collect all latest fashions in them. I was really keen on buying a good leather jacket for myself but I always found the good ones very expensive, and the ones in my budget were not what I wanted. So last year my brother told my parents to not get me three different gifts, but one leather jacket only and they all got the one that I once showed to my mom in the mall. I was so happy to get it I couldn’t even stammer my thanks to them! Shortly after my birthday I took a trip to Ladakh with my friends and I wore this jacket over there. Everyone admired it and complimented me on it. I wore it many times in the last winters and I’d take it out gain for winters this year.

Discussion
- Let’s talk about uniforms.
Sure!

- Why do people wear a uniform in your opinion?
People wear a uniform to signify equality and standard. For example, wearing uniforms in school shows equality between all students whether rich or poor, as they don’t dress according to their class or background. Plus it maintains a level of discipline among students to have neat clean uniforms like the majority.

- What can you tell me about different types of uniforms?
Ummm….certain jobs require certain special uniforms. Police personnel and firefighters wear special uniforms that help identify them with their profession. Their uniforms can also help them do their jobs better. Firemen, for example, wear suits that help protect them from the heat of fires. Uniforms are also an important part of military service. Soldiers wear uniforms to increase identification with their fellow soldiers also provide important protection like camouflaging to help them do their jobs.

- What type of clothes do people wear at home and when they go out?
People when at home, wear clothes that they are comfortable in, for example loose, baggy clothes which don’t make them feel hot or are not a bother when they wanna lounge on the bed or something. But when they go out they have to look presentable and dressed according to the occasion so they put on clothes in which they look good.
