The maps below show the changes that have taken place at the waterfront area of a town called Darwin between 2009 and 2014. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

The given maps of the town named Darwin show how the infrastructure in the town changed from 2009 to 2014. At a glance, we can see that the major changes happened in the industrial area, and a new mode of transportation was established.

 

A large part of the town was an industrial area in 2009, which was turned to house more residential facilities by 2014 by planting many trees. Moving from the south towards the central part of the town, three more residential buildings were constructed, along with a university complex. The industrial area towards the northern part of the town was replaced by a swimming pool facility. However, the location of the school, the existing swimming pools, and the convention centre remained unchanged.

 

The town meets the sea towards the east, where in the south eastern end a new harbour was constructed in 2014, to allow water transportation to and from Darwin. A roadway from the harbour was connected to the main road running all along the west of Darwin.
