Letter # 26
You have received a letter from your
bank, asking you to acknowledge receipt of a new bank card. However, the card
was missing from the envelope.
Write a letter to the bank's head
office. In your letter:
- explain why you are writing,
- express concern about the missing card,
- ask them what they intend to do.
Dear Sir / Madam,
I am a savings account holder (A/c
no.: 1234567890) in your bank. I received an envelope today morning sent from
the Law Garden branch which was supposed to contain my credit card. However,
upon opening it, I couldn’t find any card inside.
I had applied two weeks ago for a
Platinum Credit Card from your bank. I was told that I’ll receive my card via
mail at my home address. Accordingly, I received an envelope today that read
that it contained my Platinum Credit Card and other relevant documents.
Unfortunately, the envelope’s seal was tampered with and I found only the
papers inside, no card. I suspect that somebody tried to open the envelope and succeeded
in taking the card out. Therefore, I am very concerned about it being used
wrongly and I having to suffer for it.
I request you to take this matter up
as a priority case and cancel that card’s services immediately so that it can’t
be used. I would also like to receive notifications regarding the action being taken
so that I can have a closure.
Kindly arrange a new credit card for
me; I would personally come to the bank’s branch and collect it as I don’t want
to take any chances this time.
Yours sincerely,
Azim Taraporewala.
