I would like to talk about a scrapbook that I made for my best friend. Her name’s Ritu. She’s really very fond of handmade and handwritten stuff, so for her 20th birthday, I decided to give her a scrapbook containing loving messages from all her friends and family members she’s close to. I browsed this website called pinterest.com for ideas on how to make the scrapbook as I’m not inherently that creative. I picked one of the designs that had a ribbons and balloons pattern. I bought the necessary stationery and set to work a week before Ritu’s birthday. Since this gift was going to be a surprise for her, I requested all the people who I asked to write messages for Ritu, to not tell anything to her about my gift. As the messages kept coming to me, I started writing them down in the scrapbook, each message on a separate page, with a photo of that person with Ritu. In the end, I took two pages to write my own message and birthday wish for her and pasted at least half a dozen photographs of us together. A day before her birthday, my scrapbook was ready. I got it gift-wrapped at a store and at midnight when I went to her home to wish her, I presented my gift to her. She was overwhelmed seeing all the messages inside and the happiness on her face made me feel extremely satisfied. She thanked me over and over again and also confessed that it was amazing how I had managed to make such a pretty-looking scrapbook all by myself. I would just like to end by saying that I am glad I made that gift for her.
