difficult to get a university education. Some people believe that universities

It
is often found that students from underprivileged families and rural areas are
not able to obtain tertiary education. Some people believe that universities
should step up should help such students to study. In my opinion, this is a
great initiative to tackle this problem.
To
begin with, equal opportunities in terms of education, regardless of an
individual’s background, race, gender, or religion is everyone’s birthright. Despite
that, there are a few factors such as lack of monetary resources,
unavailability of transport, and substandard quality of primary and secondary
education which prove to be a hindrance for further education, especially for
economically-disadvantaged children. In this situation, universities can play a
major role if they provide necessary assistance to these students. For example,
universities can provide study material at subsidised rates or make
arrangements for transport or accommodation for them. There are, in-fact, many
provisions made in the Constitution of India to ensure equality in education
for all its citizens.
Secondly,
receiving higher education will also provide students with equal job
opportunities which in turn will improve the lifestyle and standard of living
among people. Absence of proper education is also one of the reasons for the
dearth in personal, social and economic growth of the nation. If the
universities can start out-reach programs or arrange funding it can be really
helpful in providing opportunities to the deserving candidates.
To
conclude, I would like to say that universities must reach out to help students
and take initiatives to assist these underprivileged students so they also
receive the deserved amount of education along with exposure and help them be
equivalent to the others.
