For the past year you have been a member of a local club. Now you want to discontinue your membership.

Write a letter to the club secretary. In your letter:

·        state what type of membership you have and how you have paid for this.

·        give details of how you have benefited from the club.

·        explain why you want to leave.

Dear Mr. Patel,

I am a member of the esteemed Mahogany Fields Ltd., with the membership number 4159. The purpose of writing this letter to you is to inform that I need to terminate my membership with your club due to unavoidable circumstances on my part.

For your easy reference, I’d like to convey that I hold a permanent membership with your club Mahogany Fields Ltd. which I paid for by cheque. The cheque was from RHL Bank Ltd., no. 002514, dated 15th July 2019. If you need any other information in order to look up my records, please let me know. Apart from this, I would like to commend your club for the wonderful array for facilities it provides. My main incentive for joining Mahogany Fields Ltd. was because of the massive swimming pool it boasts of. I love swimming, and the club’s heated pool is a delight to swim in. I also enjoyed working out in the club’s gym; I must say that it is very well-equipped, well-maintained and the trainers are very helpful. Moreover, the cafeteria menu has a range of healthy dishes which I found to be very refreshing rather than the usual junk food we get in restaurants.

Coming to the reason why I wish to leave the club, I have been transferred to Nagpur for my work and it is unlikely that I’ll be returning here anytime soon. I am supposed to travel out on the 30th of June, which leaves me with only 2 weeks in hand. So, I request you to approve my application for termination as soon as possible. If there are any arrears remaining, kindly let me know so that I can settle them immediately.

I deeply regret ending my association with Mahogany Fields Ltd. I hope I can apply for a membership again in the future if I come back.
