Nowadays many adults play video games. Is it a good or a bad development? Give your opinion and include relevant examples from your own experience.

It is pretty common for adults to play video games nowadays in their leisure time. Some people don’t think this is a good practice. I personally believe there’s no harm in playing video games, and this essay shall further elaborate this opinion.

It would be wrong to believe that video games are only for children. Few adults rarely get to do anything playful after work and family life set in. Gaming adults have a daily chance to engage in playful behaviour, which helps you enjoy life and be happier. Whether it’s a realistic video game like Call of Duty or a highly imaginative video game like World of Warcraft, using your imagination to put yourself in the mindset of your character and their world is also a highly stimulating, creative exercise for your brain. This stress-free activity makes them look forward to getting back to play, making life interesting, even in a small way.

Apart from the above mentioned factors, couples can engage in gaming together, making both the partners feel lively and light-hearted, thereby strengthening their bond. Adult gaming activities can be considered disadvantageous if they become an addiction and get out of hand. But, unlike children, I think that the adults know better about having a balanced life perspective between gaming and other important activities. So there are really no major drawbacks here.

To conclude I don’t think adults playing video games is a bad development.

Playing video games is a great way to de-stress from the demands of everyday life and do something that you enjoy just for the sake of enjoying it.
