Raising children in the city
might seem a good idea to some, citing its comparatively improved lifestyle. On
the other hand, living in the countryside also has its own advantages. This
essay shall further discuss the features of living in both these places.
Children need to grow up in an
environment that is first and foremost a healthy one. This is not possible in
cities nowadays. Many researches prove the children in cities suffer from
breathing problems like asthma. It is for such examples that raising children
in the country seems to be a better option. Also, in contrast to the crowded
neighbourhoods of the city, children in villages have green fields to play in
and have plenty of encouragement to play outdoors. The cost of living is not
too much as well; therefore parents too don’t have to spend a lot in their
child’s upbringing. But all arguments aside, there are some stark benefits of
city life that a village life just cannot compensate for.
In regards to education, children
in the city have more exposure, better facilities and many options to choose from
for their future careers. The children raised in the city are more aware,
prepared and in stride with the developments of the modern world as compared to
kids from the country, who might be a bit naive when it comes to this. A big
city also has a more efficient network of transportation and advanced medical facilities,
unlike the countryside. I do agree that the cons of the city life are quite
serious too. But despite the health benefits in the country side, due to better
education and job prospects, children would do well in cities.
To conclude, I’d say children
should be raised in the city. This is not because it is more advantageous, but
keeping up with the world and the society as it progresses is the most logical
thing to do.
