A builder did some repairs in your house recently and you are unhappy with their quality. Write a letter to the builder’s manager and explain:

- What did they do?
- Why do you think the quality is unacceptable?
- Suggest a solution for the situation.

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to draw your attention towards the repair work done in my house recently by your men. I am really not satisfied with the kind of work done, and that the things we discussed that were to be repaired aren't fully mended.

Let me start by pointing out the things mentioned in our agreement before the work started. I needed the walls of the bedrooms whitewashed and painted to cream. Whitewashing the walls was essential as my walls keep dampening and the paint keeps peeling off. Your workers haven’t done a very good job here; the marks of this are the discoloured patches on the walls.

The second thing I wanted repaired were my wooden cupboards. Being very old, the wood had begun to tatter and split, again due to the dampening problem. I had specifically instructed you to carve new cupboards of the same size as the old ones, with the new wooden sheets sprayed with anti-termite chemicals. The cupboards have not been carved accordingly, and the new wood isn’t sprayed with the chemicals either.

I would want you to personally come and see the disappointing work that has been done, which was really not expected. I would also want to discuss on how you intend to put it all right according to our contract.
