Respected Sir / Ma'am,

This letter is in regards to the application for the Life Sciences course that the college is offering in our 5th semester. I am very interested to take it up next month, however, unfortunately I am currently short of funds to apply for the same.

I am a student of Biology in your college, and the introduction of Life Sciences in our curriculum is a very exciting approach. It will broaden our horizons regarding the different branches of science, and help us to choose those factions that in particular we can improve our skills in. I am specifically interested in majoring in botany and zoology. But as I mentioned above, I am not able to afford applying for these courses. Therefore, I would like to request the college to assist me in this situation.

My family consists of only 1 earning member, my father, and he is a Sales Associate in a private firm. Supporting my education has already emptied somewhat of the savings kept for me, and it would be difficult now for my parents to churn out enough money for these additional subjects. I even work part-time to take care of my routine expenses but if I take these courses up, I will have to leave my job as well.

I am aware that the college provides scholarships to students in need of financial help. I would request you to consider me eligible for the scholarship and allow me to present my case before you to obtain the same. If you may check my academic reports, I have been consistently performing well and my research projects have earned 'A-s' almost every time.

I humbly request you to allow me to have a meeting with you and clarify my position further.
