The pie chart below shows the percentages of visits to the physician by different categories of patients in the USA in the year 2005. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features.



The presented pie chart illustrates the proportion of patient visits to the doctor in the US for the year 2005. The information is classified into 7 different categories.

Let’s start with the two visually prominent categories in the graph. 22.4% people visited the physicians for general and family medicine for that particular year; this seconds the first and the major proportion of patients listed under the 'all others' category, consisting of 29.2% of the total patients. Next are the patients visiting the doctors for internal medicine, constituting of 17.4%, followed by pediatrics that were visited by 5% less patients, that is 13.4%. 

Coming to the categories that fall under less than 10% of visits, not much difference was observed in the proportion of patients consulting doctors of obstetrics & gynecology department, and ophthalmologists. Their visits accounted for 6.7% and 6.1% of the patients, respectively. The least consulted were orthopedic surgeons, amounting to only 4.8% of the total visits.
