Letter # 7
You recently encountered some problems with public transportation service in your area. Write a letter to the manager of the public transport company and say- Where and what were the problems?- Explain how these problems affect the public.- Suggest what changes could be made to improve the situation.
Dear Sir/Ma'am,
This letter is in regards to
the issues faced by passengers of the city's bus service in Ellington area. I
am a regular commuter for the same and of late we have encountered a dip in the
frequency of the buses in this area.
First of all I would like to bring to your notice that Ellington
is a major commercial area. Therefore the people travelling to and from here
are large in number. We need daily running buses at frequent intervals for
almost every locality of the city. Recently, the frequency of buses running to
and from Flemington, Santoria and Billyworth has decreased quite a lot. As
compared to us getting a bus at intervals of 20-25 minutes at the most, we now
have to wait for the same for more than 45-50 minutes. This makes our schedules
run extremely late.
This situation has given rise to an opportunity for many private
cab owners to charge insane amounts for these three routes. It is a really
challenging situation for us and I urge you to take some steps immediately. May
I suggest increasing the number of buses with immediate effect, and also,
please look into drafting some regulations for the taxi system in the city as
well so that in a scenario like this in the future, the cabs shall not be able
to exploit the passengers.
I request you once again to consider this issue on priority and
take relevant measures. I hope we shall be able to see the changes very soon.
Yours thankfully,
XYZ.
