Some people believe that anybody can be a teacher, if he is trained properly. Others think that there are some personal qualities a good teacher should have. To what extent do you agree or disagree with the statement?

Teachers have a wide variety of responsibilities, including teaching classroom curricula and helping guide students towards academic success. However there are certain attributes a person must embody in order to be a good teacher. This essay shall explain how not anybody can join the teaching profession.

In recent years, there have been many arguments about education. In these many arguments, the most important facts may have been lost. We have been, as a culture, distracted from recognizing what is the essence of good education: the devoted teacher. Advanced technological tools are much more mesmerizing than an individual, which is why people feel anyone can become a teacher. They might feel the role of teaching is reduced to operation of educational gadgets in class and supervision of the students.

Quite obviously, there are certain attributes a person must embody in order to be a good teacher. Apart from mastering classroom management, teachers are supposed to be positive, kind, compassionate, patient people. They recognize the importance of establishing positive relationships with their students. Good teachers are not supposed to be arrogant in their knowledge. They are. These are some of the inherent qualities that a person well-trained in the teaching tools won’t possess. These qualities come in individuals who consider teaching not to be a profession, but a vocation.

To conclude, I’d say people training to be teachers just for the sake of a profession can never be good teachers. Teaching requires dedication and commitment towards their duties as educators, which a mechanical training session won’t provide.
