Letter # 14
You
are an account holder of a bank. Recently you have received a letter from the
bank stating that your account is $300 overdrawn and that you will be charged
$50 which will be debited from your account. You know that this information is
incorrect.
Write a letter to the bank.
Explain what has happened and say what
you would like them to do about it.
Dear Sir / Ma'am,
I am writing this letter in reply to your
intimation regarding an overdraft of $300. In your letter you have mentioned
that you would be charging me $50 and it would be debited from my account.
It was because of a mistake made by your
bank that my account is overdrawn by $300. I have been paying $550 a month,
being the monthly instalments of my education loan, which I took in 2001. You
have been debiting the monthly payments directly from my account. I have
written a letter to you to stop paying the monthly education loan instalment,
since it was paid back in full. You acknowledged the receipt of my letter but
no action was taken by your staff. You have debited the last month's instalment
of $550 also and that is the reason why I'm overdrawn now.
I request you to contact the bank that
gave me the loan and rectify the mistake.
Awaiting prompt action.
Yours faithfully,
XYZ.
