You’ve just moved into a new house and found out that your
furniture has been damaged by the removal company. Write to the manager of this
company and say-
- Give your details.
- Explain what happened and when.
- What you think should be done about the matter.
Dear John,
I hired your moving
service last week, for moving my furniture from my old house in Navrangpura, to
my new home in Prahladnagar. The
contract I entered into with your company asserted on the removal being done
without damages, and if any damages happen, I would be compensated accordingly.
However, when I
checked all my furniture today morning, I found that 2 of the legs of my dining
table were broken; moreover there was a rip in the upholstery of one of the
chairs of the sofa set of my living room. The dining table had been brought
from China and it would cost us a bomb to get those two legs repaired or
replaced. I called the person who supervised the packing and moving of my
furniture to know how did this happen, but he isn’t answering my calls. This is
totally unprofessional and unacceptable, and I will not tolerate a situation
like this.
I would like to get a
written explanation from your end and I hope this matter can be settled
amicably. I shall be sending you the estimates of the compensation I expect in
my next letter.
I am looking forward
to your reply in due course and your earliest action.
Yours faithfully,
XYZ.
